The purpose of National Camping School is to provide adults with a learning experience and training related to the operation of council camp. The key Staff members will, in turn, train and supervise other staff personnel in your Council camping program.
This brochure provides information about the National Camping Schools offered during 2016.
The description of each section offered in the National Camping Schools is included in this brochure. Some sections have required prerequisites. This is especially true of the Aquatics training sections. Without these basics, the participant runs the risk of not being qualified at the school.
NRA Rifle and Shotgun certifications will be offered outside of NCS to make time available to teach existing and new programs. See page 13 for locations and dates of the NRA Rife and Shotgun Instructor Training classes.
The Aquatics section requires a current lifeguarding certificate. A limited number of locations will be offering BSA Lifeguard prior to NCS for those needing the certification prior to attending the Aquatics section. See the National Camp School website for dates and locations.
Due to new CDC requirements the Aquatics section will now start at 7:00pm on Thursday.
A STEM Day Camp Training has been added to one Cub Scout Day Camp School in each region. This training will add 2 additional days to the length of school.
